A legal disclaimer

The explanations and information provided on this page are only general and high-level explanations and information on how to write your own document of a Privacy Policy. You should not rely on this article as legal advice or as recommendations regarding what you should actually do, because we cannot know in advance what are the specific privacy policies you wish to establish between your business and your customers and visitors. We recommend that you seek legal advice to help you understand and to assist you in the creation of your own Privacy Policy.

Privacy Policy - the basics

Consent Handling & User Rights

1. How We Obtain Consent
  • We only collect personal information—such as contact details and health-related data—with your explicit consent, using clear checkboxes or affirmation statements (e.g., “I agree”). We never use pre-checked boxes or bundle consent with other terms.

  • Consent is obtained at the time of data collection, such as when booking a session or signing up for SMS reminders, and is accompanied by a link to this Privacy Policy for full transparency.

2. What You’re Consenting To & Why
  • We clearly explain what data is being collected (e.g., phone number, health data), why it's collected (e.g., booking, progress tracking, SMS notifications), and how it will be used.

  • If data is used for additional purposes—like marketing communications—we obtain separate consent for those specific uses.

3. Recording & Managing Consent
  • We keep a record of when and how you gave consent, including your identifier, timestamp, and context (e.g., booking form).

  • We also record any withdrawals of consent, so you remain in control of your data at all times.

4. Withdrawing Consent
  • You may withdraw your consent at any time, and doing so is as easy as giving it—without any drawbacks. Once withdrawn, we stop processing your data for that specific purpose.

  • Withdrawal options are clearly available via our website footer, booking interface, and email communications.

5. Display & Updates
  • Our Privacy Policy is accessible from the website footer, booking forms, and any page where personal data is collected.

  • We regularly review and update this policy. Major changes will be communicated to you, and where necessary, renewed consent will be requested.

Why This Matters

This framework ensures that:

  • You give informed and specific consent for each data use.

  • You can control all aspects of your personal data from submission to withdrawal.

  • Your privacy rights are clear, transparent, and easy to exercise.

What to include in the Privacy Policy

Generally speaking, a Privacy Policy often addresses these types of issues: the types of information the website is collecting and the manner in which it collects the data; an explanation about why is the website collecting these types of information; what are the website’s practices on sharing the information with third parties; ways in which your visitors and customers can exercise their rights according to the relevant privacy legislation; the specific practices regarding minors’ data collection; and much, much more.
